The Comras Company
Headquartered in Miami Beach, is one of South Florida's leading urban retail/commercial development and leasing companies. Since opening its Miami office in 1992, the Company has developed and leased approximately 2,000,000 square feet of class "A" office, specialty retail and entertainment oriented developments.
The Company’s efforts in urban retail development and leasing can be seen in a number of completed projects in South Florida and South Beach. Among these are the conception of the “Collins Avenue Fashion District” from 5th to 10th Streets and the redevelopment and leasing of numerous properties along Miami Beach's historic Lincoln Road. These retail markets have become the most sought-after locations for national and international premier designers and retailers. The Comras Company has built to suit, renovated historic buildings and acted as leasing agent for clients such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Levi’s, Gap, Apple, Sephora, MAC Cosmetics, Diesel and Quiksilver in their move to this leading retail area.
In addition to urban retail, the Comras Company has pioneered the development of two mixed-use projects in a public/private venture with the City of Miami Beach and LNR Property Corporation. The combined projects located adjacent to Lincoln Road represent approximately 230,000 square feet of class “A” office space, 70,000 square feet of retail space and 1,300 parking spaces.
In South Miami, the Company led the redevelopment of the former Bakery Center into the Shops at Sunset Place, before turning it over to its partner, the Simon Property Group. The approximate 800,000 square-foot specialty retail and entertainment project houses a 24-plex AMC Cinema, Splitsville, Nike Town, LA Fitness and Victoria’s Secret along with a host of well recognized specialty retailers.
Michael A. Comras
Originally from New York, received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami and a Masters of Business Administration, with a degree in banking and finance, from Pace University, New York. Mr. Comras is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. He is a former Chairman of the Lincoln Road Marketing and recently participated on the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Task Force on Tourism-Retail-Nightlife/Dining, established to assist in strengthening Miami Beach's commerce during the recent economic crisis. Mr. Comras is a founding member of The AIR Society of National Jewish Health and is a Founder of Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He contributes to various charities, including the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
